Reserving Your Pit Spot

As always, the toughest part for the SKUSA staff in organizing large events each year is laying out and fitting everyone into the pits! Please use this page as a guideline that will simplify this experience for you.

This year is no different, as our Winter Series Rounds 1 & 2 at Homestead Miami Speedway in Homestead, FL will see large numbers for this event's inaugural running! ALL RACERS or TEAM OWNERS can do their part now by reserving the space they will need (as well as encouraging all drivers to get pre-registered for the event - before their classes cap out at 44)!

If you know EXACTLY how much space you will need for your pit spot, please email it to [email protected]. What to include on your pit request is described below.

The price of all pit spots are as follows

• $.30/SF for ALL pit spaces
• $.30/SF plus $20 per day/outlet for pit spaces w/power (These are very limited, see pit map for exact locations)
• $300 per space for VIP RVs (Space is 20x50' which includes a place to park one vehicle) See map for these prime locations.
• $150 per space for RV's (no hookups)
• $50 to Camp in your Toy Hauler/Trailer. PLUS the pit space cost.
• Please specify your top 3 choices for the pit spot locations you prefer (i.e., A23-27, 33-36 etc), based on the pit map posted below. We will do our best to accommodate you.

NOTE: The event & class sponsors will receive priority pit spot placement, so be sure to note on your pit request if you are a sponsor, or if you’d like information on becoming one. An emailed request for sponsorship information can also be sent to [email protected].

Here are the items to include on your pit request drawing:

• Tell us whether or not your team will be racing the weekend PRIOR, with the regional club race. SKUSA will be working closely with the Homestead team to assure we get you in your correct spot for both events or however long you plan on staying at the facility.
• One pit request is all you need!
• Full layout - with dimensions in feet - of your total pit area. PLEASE BE EXACT, AND DO NOT REQUEST MORE SPACE THAN YOU TRULY NEED. You will probably NOT be able to add space when you arrive.
• Include where tents will go, trailers, E-Z ups, VIP area, etc.
• Include space for trailer tongue and doors.
• Include a team name and a list of the drivers that will be pitting in your spot. NOTE: Please send your pit map when it is absolutely final. In the event that there are multiple teams in one pit area, a designated team manager/ representative must be named as the person responsible for tent and trailer placement. We will NOT park teams on site unless and until ALL trailers are present. Or unless the team manager is present (Only Exception)
• Teams that want to Guarantee they are pitted next to or near each other MUST submit their pit request as ONE COMPLETE REQUEST to SKUSA at the same time with a specific note on each drawing, initialed by person submitting the request telling us that preference. NOTE: Following this process will allow us to achieve this goal but will reduce the ability to fulfill specific requests. If this is being requested by a sponsor, the sponsor must submit the request and be responsible for the entire pit invoice.
• Include your contact name and best daytime contact info on your drawing (phone and email).
• Tell us whether or not you'll be renting a tent, bringing your own, or both. See below for vendor info.

We will be in touch to confirm each pit reservation submitted, and will secure payment with you when we have you placed on the pit map.

NOTE: NO passenger vehicles will be allowed in the pits, so please do not include them in your layout. If possible, one team support vehicle will be allowed per team. However, in some cases the vehicle may be located close to but not directly on the pit space. If this option is something that is of interest to you, please include a note with your pit request. ALL other vehicles will be parked as close as possible.

The EXCLUSIVE rental tent and rental equipment vendor for this event will be Diamonette Party Rental. Visit their website for all current pricing and items they provide. NOTE: You will want to confirm your pit size and location with the SKUSA office prior to finalizing your tent rental, although it's a good idea to check tent availability, space requirements and pricing right away in order to submit the most accurate pit layout. Remember, a 20x20' tent does not fit in a 20x20' space. Room is needed for staking.

Trailer Storage

If you have a trailer that will be used for transporting karts and equipment only, and does not need to be parked inside of the pit area, Homestead Speedway has plenty of space to park the trailer at no charge. However, it will not be in a secured area. Trailers parked inside the fenced paddock will be invoiced at the same rate of $.30/SF. 

Schedule

For teams only planning on running the SKUSA event, Pit move-in will begin on Tuesday at noon, January 9th with the big rigs and must be complete by 6pm on Thursday, January 11th. Optional practice days are being offered starting Monday January 8th. Contact Homestead Karting Center for specific times and fees. Move out will begin Sunday night, January 14th, after the final podium presentation (approx. 6pm). Teams who wish to stay longer please contact Homestead karting Center.

NOTE: RVs parked in the VIP RV spaces located on SW 336th st must be moved by Monday January 15th 5pm as the road shall be reopened to traffic Tuesday morning.
