Nick Firestone - Earth 911 at SuperNats X
“I am very excited and honored to represent Earth 911 at this year’s SuperNationals,” said Firestone, who will be running out of the 2WildKarting stable. “Anyone who knows me will tell you that I am an avid recycler. In fact, I used to pay for recycling long before it was available in Scottsdale. I am psyched for the opportunity to help Earth 911 raise awareness about recycling and the great services they offer to help consumers and businesses with their recycling challenges.”
Earth 911 Chairman and CEO Jeff Rassas could not agree more. “When Nick approached us about the SuperNationals, the timing was perfect. Earth 911 is launching a nationwide marketing campaign to build excitement around recycling and reach a younger audience. Participating in the nation’s biggest kart race in a high profile city like Las Vegas is an ideal start to our new marketing initiative. Karting is exciting, has a young participant and fan base, and requires information on many of the Earth 911 topics such as recycling.”
With a click of the mouse to www.Earth911.org or a toll-free phone call to 1-800-CLEANUP, individuals or businesses can access over 80,000 recycling or household hazardous waste disposal location listings and real time beach quality information and alerts – at no cost.
In 2005, approximately 80% of U.S. ZIP Codes accessed the Earth 911 system for environmental information. As a result, citizens across the U.S. made a tremendous environmental impact by recycling 2.1 million gallons of oil and thousands of gallons of paint annually. Over the past 5 years, consumers have recycled 128,000 pounds of plastic bottles, 2.34 million pounds of empty aluminum containers, and 36,500 tons of paper.
