ProKart Challenge front-runner Nick Firestone has signed Earth 911 as a primary sponsor for his 2006 SuperNationals G1 campaign, November 9-12, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Earth 911 is the nation’s “one-stop” environmental network for community-specific recycling, reuse and household hazardous waste disposal information. In partnership with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), state and local government agencies, nonprofit organizations and private corporations such as BP/Castrol, ExxonMobil, and Staples, Earth 911 consolidates consumer and business-oriented environmental information from over 10,000 authoritative data sources.

In 2005, approximately 80% of U.S. ZIP Codes accessed the Earth 911 system for environmental information. As a result, citizens across the U.S. made a tremendous environmental impact by recycling 2.1 million gallons of oil and thousands of gallons of paint annually. Over the past 5 years, consumers have recycled 128,000 pounds of plastic bottles, 2.34 million pounds of empty aluminum containers, and 36,500 tons of paper.
